Home Farm …
From modest beginnings as a commercial fisherman in Port Dover, Ontario, Alf Budweth Sr. became a pioneer in the agricultural industry with his strong belief that drugs, hormones and animal by-products should not be used in the production of livestock feeds. At this time, this was common practice, so Alf set about changing this by designing and creating Nobleton Feed Mill’s own line of specialised equine feed, the first feed which considered the very specific nutritional needs of horses. Fast forward to 2020 and his sons continue his legacy through Nobleton Feed Mill, who have become the go-to supplier of provisions for country living.
The legacy of Alf Snr lives on at the Mill and within the community he served. His sons, Dave and Alf Jnr have fond memories of spending time there helping after school and on the weekends, as their father was a strong believer that they should both learn the business from the ground up. This time spent taught them both crucial lessons about work and understanding the needs of the community, lessons which they have not forgotten and which remain at the heart of Nobleton Feed Mill.
For Dave and Alf, their childhood was not filled with traditional adventures but a lifetime of lessons. Delivered naturally from their father, Alf Budweth Senior. And in his memory, the Mill stands proud as their father did, behind the principles of quality, service and community spirit. To that end, one hopes it will remain forever, a family business which serves the people.
